Pulsed electro Magnetic Fields

Support cellular health and regeneration non-invasively

Help the body heal itself

PEMF is a holistic approach based on the science of human electromagnetism.  It supports the body with natural energy at the cellular level. The body may use that energy to:

  • heal and regenerate itself
  • enhance its natural recovery process
  • assist with muscle fatigue and discomfort after exercise
  • increase energy or support relaxation
  • balance the body’s interconnected systems

The Technology

Pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy is the use of pulsating magnetic fields and is applied using special PEMF devices.

Everything in the body happens with an electromagnetic exchange between cells. Natural electromagnetic energy controls your biochemistry.

Tissue cells operate on energy derived from mitochondria.  Your cells are impaired when this energy is disrupted by an injury, a hard workout, poor diet, or simply from getting older.

The PEMF devices generate a carefully designed sequence of magnetic pulses.  It introduces a magnetic field into tissues, primarily those experiencing pain or in need of healing assistance.

These PEMF programs are designed to safely promote healing in muscle, tendon, ligament, skin, and bone tissues.

At frequencies between 3 and 1000Hz, and up to 200 gauss in intensity, it’s capable of reducing painful inflammation quickly and effectively.

What to expect

First we will identify the tissues experiencing pain or in need of healing assistance.

Then the applicators are secured to the body where treatment is needed, including at any site of injury or pain.  The program for the desired effects is selected and run from the pulse generator typically for 10-20 minutes.

The pulses are generally not intended to elicit a muscle contraction, but you may feel

Yes.

Pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMFs) are a noninvasive, safe and effective physical therapy, with no significant side effects.  They have been heavily researched for over 4 decades.

Many people have heard that electromagnetic fields (EMFs) distrupt your biology. Things like  cell phones, wireless routers, microwaves, and high tension power lines.

EMFs can alter your DNA and affect your biological function, however there is still a lot we don’t know.

Here’s the good news: PEMF therapy isn’t the same thing. The frequency and duration of the magnetic field make a big difference.

EMFs fall on a wide spectrum — everything from x-rays and satellites to your wireless headphones emit EMFs at different frequencies.

High-frequency EMFs, like X-rays that register incredibly high frequencies are the most disruptive to your body.

Other non-ionizing EMFs in the middle frequency such as microwaves can cause changes in your DNA.

The therapeutic frequency of most PEMF treatments and maintenance will fall in the 5-50 Hz range, which look a lot like the frequencies you encounter in nature, so your body knows how to deal with them.

Even more important is that PEMF treatment is pulsed and brief.  Most PEMF treatments only last 10-20 minutes and are delivered in short bursts.

You don’t have extended exposure like you would sitting under a cell phone tower all day.  So, you don’t get the same negative effects which you might see from man-made electronic devices.

Yes.  There is over 40 years of research with over 2000 studies. There is ample evidence on the effectiveness, but also some studies that are equivocal.

To be fair however, the claims for PEMF are very wide ranging. We also have to recognize that there is a wide range of devices, frequencies, and durations, so the evidence has successes and failures.

For us as professionals, we look for the health issues that have a strong base of evidence.  We use the research to identify what can be treated with consistent evidence, and at what frequencies and duration.

Almost everyone from the young to the elderly can use PEMF safely and without negative side effects. With that said, there are some conditions that are not appropriate for PEMF including;

  • Pacemakers
  • Insulin Pumps
  • Electrical Implants
  • Organ Transplant
  • Pregnancy
